ABOUT ME

I’m Sophie Joy, a DJ and vocalist with a deep-rooted love for house music in all its forms. My sound is a blend of timeless classics and new discoveries, heavily influenced by the heritage of Chicago and Detroit house, alongside soulful and acid leanings. I’m inspired by the energy of legendary spaces like Paradise Garage and Club Shelter, and I aim to bring that same spirit to every set I play.I’ve had the pleasure of performing at venues and festivals worldwide, including Glitterbox Ibiza, Creamfields, Ministry of Sound, Koko, and Defected Croatia. 2025 was a particular highlight; I returned to the Meat Rack at Glastonbury’s NYC Downlow, and I was delighted to have my set included in Block 9’s "best of the best" mix series. I also rounded off the year headlining the final "Feel It" at O’Meara before the night’s move to XOYO.As I move into 2026, I am evolving my sound by incorporating more of my own vocals into my music. Having spent years as a session vocalist working across house, RnB, and soul, I am now focused on bridging the gap between my vocal performance and music production.Beyond the decks, you can find me hosting regular shows on Brighton’s 1BTN. I also co-produce ‘Party People Society’, a POC and Queer-led event dedicated to celebrating the authentic roots and inclusive ethos of house music.This site contains just a snapshot of my life and work in music.
